Welcome to the Blog

Filed under: Calendar, Getting Started — Tags: , — RichardB @ 9:50 pm

Where to start?  Some of you know that I have mentioned doing this in the past and others will find this a surprise.  I am hoping that this will be a tool for my extended family and friends to post information, news, photos and general family happenings.  Most of us are aware of size the limitations of email and the chore it can be to keep up with a current mailing list, thus I believe that this blog will be a useful tool for everyone to keep up with what is going on in our large group.

Now that you are on the blog register and send me an email at barnrd@richardb.netand with a few clicks I’ll update your profile and you’ll be able to post your own entries.  If you prefer that I post something for you send it to me in an email and I will copy it in to a post for you, although it will be under my name and not yours.

With this being said, there are a few things to keep in mind.  The posts on the blog and websight is available to everyone on the world wide web to see.  The address book is only available to Editors and above.   Do not post things like bank account numbers, telephone numbers, personal email accounts in the forum., but the information you put in the address book is protected.

There is als0 a calendar on here that you can add events to.  This would be a great place to put items such as reunions and birthdays.

If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a not and I help any way I can and if you would like, and I do host email accounts on this website and can set one up for you without any problems.

When posting events or news add a tag or two to the “Tags” area to make searching for your post easier.  For example; if you want to post something about Homecoming this year, add Homecoming and Dubach to the tag section and seperate them with a comma like this Homecoming, Dubach.  This will cause your post to show up whenever someone searches either tag.

 Enjoy

Whose doing what

Dad has been busy with teaching, as Richard has also stated, though he didn’t mention that he’s been tutoring me in Calculus and helping with any of my Petroleum Engineering courses and questions.  Richard has also been a well of knowledge for me when it comes to school.  I am convinced that he could do a better job than most of the teachers we have at U.L.L. in our Engineering Department (including the Head of the Department itself).  School has been an ongoing thing for me for the past few years and a few more to come.  I want to graduate with my masters and also with honors.  So hopefully if I keep my nose in the books, this will be something to look forward to in the upcoming years.  I am also working right now, I am contracted to Chevron as an Operations Assistant and am staying very busy.  I do work for both the Central and Western GoM Ops. Eng.’s and they keep me on my toes, while also working around my school schedule.  Who could ask for more?

I recently tied the knot with the greatest guy in the world.  It was one of the best moments in my life.  I had my big brother there to walk me down the isle.  I had Wanda there to help me plan the whole thing and tell who-what to do-when.  She rocked it.  Mom was escorted down the isle by my other big brother and Jori, Trisha and Yvonne walked in my wedding.  And who couldn’t forget the 4 cutest accents to the event as a whole, all of my nieces were flower girls and they did a fantastic job.  They also did a great rendition of Frankenstein later at the reception when 3 of them took their hair down and had a vertical fro for the rest of the evening.  All in all, it was a great moment in time, which my big brother has made into a movie/slide show to the wonderful tune “Who Let The Dog’s Out” by the Baha Men.  :)

Mom is doing great, she is still working for Woodgroup and busy as ever.  She’s kicking butt and taking names. Her birthday is coming up in April. . don’t forget.  As well, she just got back from a trip to Virginia with Staff and Trish.  he saw all the sights and was able to visit Williamsburg and many other places.  She was in heaven.  Mom has a weakness for anything concerning history and this was a memory she will cherish.

Jori is doing well.  I just went to a P.R. Event with her last weekend at Acadian Village.  Her company was one of the larger sponsor’s for the fundraiser involving the raising of money and awareness for children with brain tumors.   It was a great evening with a wonderful turnout for the kids.

Stafford is recently engaged, as of January 1st this year.  He proposed to Trisha for New Years in Virginia with her whole family there to witness and enjoy the event, including Mom.

Angelique made Crusader of the Month at her school.  Danielle punched a boy in the face over a ball (Danielle is such a bad ass).  Isabelle has recently chopped a large portion of her hair off and is now stuck with the Dorothy Hammil hair cut.  Stephen’s doing really well, taking after his Dad more and more everyday.  Sydnie brought home two awards from school last week.  Go Syd!

Oh and I can’t forget my cuuuuzzzziiin.  Sandy graduated from U.L.L with honors and is living it up in Northern Spain, right outside of Barcelona.  She is teaching and teaching and teaching and translating for an Architectural Journal.  She’s fixing to move into a fantastic new apartment and . . I could brag for days. . so I will stop myself now.

So, there it is.  The family update for the Fall 2007 and Spring of 2008.  Hope you enjoyed and if I messed anything up, or left anything out, I am very sorry and feel free to correct me.

This picture was taken at Stephen's Christmas Show for school this past year.

Love Ya,

Sadie

Richard VS Autumn

Filed under: Funny Stuff — Sadie @ 12:16 am

This is a friendly reminder to all those pet lovers out there, DO NOT allow Richard to come within shooting range of your pets.  He is trigger-happy and always looking for moving targets.  Small, overtly hairy children should be wary as wll, especially since his new hand gun has radio-active (aka glow in the dark) sights.  No one is safe, except for Stafford (the only man alive whose hit puberty without chest or facial hair).

 For the skeptics out there

Homecoming

Hello family, extended family and friends.  Sadie here, just wanted to tell everyone “hi” and see if anyone had plans to go to Homecoming this year.  I am not quite sure of the date, though when I find out, I will post it.  I hope to see lots of familiar faces.
